SPRAY TANS AT COCO BEACH IN YOUNGSVILLE

A spray tan is a form of self-tanning, where fine-mist solution is sprayed onto the body. The solution darkens the skin and creates an artificial tan that can last from 3 – 7 days. This is a safe alternative for those who do not wish to tan in a tanning bed, or for those who are not of legal age to tan. However, a spray tan does not provide any UV protection, so make sure to still apply SPF!

Here are a few things you can do to prep for a spray tan at Coco Beach Tanning in Youngsville

1. Call ahead and make an appointment

a. We require appointments for our spray tans, ESPECIALLY on TROPICAL THURSDAYS when we run our $15 spray special! Feel free to call the salon or message Coco Beach on any of our socials!

b. If you notice you are running late for an appointment or cannot make an appointment, please call the salon and let us know so we can try to reschedule you or serve the next customer.

2. Make sure to shower before if you need

a. The spray solution takes about 6 – 8 hours to fully develop, so if you need to shower beforehand for an event the next day, make sure you do it!

3. Shave and exfoliate!

a. Exfoliating all dead skin off of your body is essential to a good spray tan! You want to make sure there are no dead skin cells to ensure the solution can penetrate the skin and develop. Freshly exfoliated skin allows for a darker spray tan!

b. It’s also okay if you forget to shave (it won’t mess up the spray if you shave later), however it’s best to just have your body fully prepped.

4. Remove any moisturizers or makeup before your spray appointment

a. Some ingredients found in beauty products can make it hard for the spray solution to adhere to the skin or can make the spray tan look streaky. With the removal of any of these products, your spray tan is guaranteed to have better results.

5. Wear loose clothing to the appointment

a. It’s best to wear loose fitting clothes to your spray tan appointment, or something very casual, like a tank top and some basic cloth shorts. Tight clothing can rub on the skin and create patches, splotches, streaks etc. in your spray tan. Any bronzers added to your solution can sometimes stain light colored garments.

6. Try to leave the solution on overnight

a. Give the solution the time that it needs to fully develop. If you need to shower try and shower before the appointment or wait until the next day. Do not apply any products over the solution so nothing can mess up the developing process.
